Based in Rome, Italy, the firm provides services to clients across various countries, including Italy, the United States, Brazil, France, and more. The platform focuses on issues like human rights, immigration law, and cross-border legal disputes, integrating user-centered design with legal expertise to offer a seamless experience for clients seeking justice in international contexts.
Challenge
International law can be intricate and often overwhelming for individuals and businesses alike. Clients face difficulties in understanding complex legal processes, especially when dealing with cross-border issues related to human rights, immigration, or corporate disputes.
Additionally, clients often find it challenging to access accurate, reliable, and up-to-date legal information, particularly when dealing with foreign jurisdictions. MCF International Law aimed to simplify these processes and create a more user-friendly interface for clients dealing with sensitive, high-stakes international legal matters.
How can we create a platform that not only provides legal clarity and solutions but also simplifies the navigation of complex international legal procedures for users across different countries?
UX Research and Strategic Design
To develop a solution that truly meets the needs of clients, we began with in-depth UX research. This process involved understanding the challenges faced by individuals and organizations involved in international legal issues. Through interviews, surveys, and collaboration with legal professionals, we were able to uncover key insights about the pain points, priorities, and expectations of users.
Based on our research, we developed a design strategy focused on simplifying complex legal information and improving accessibility. The platform provides users with legal services related to international law, immigration, human rights, and more, ensuring the entire process is as transparent and user-friendly as possible.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
The development of the MCF International Law platform was a collaborative effort involving lawyers, developers, and myself as the sole UX/UI designer. This multidisciplinary approach ensured that the platform maintained legal accuracy while also providing a user-friendly experience. I worked closely with both the development team and the legal experts at MCF, leveraging their expertise to ensure the platform met the specific needs of clients facing complex international legal matters.
Weekly meetings and tools like Figma, FigJam, Trello and Google Meet were instrumental in fostering effective communication and aligning everyone towards a common goal, ensuring a seamless and cohesive product that serves the needs of its diverse user base.
